Are lowering links safe?
Motorcycle manufacturers make their motorcycles with a basic set up. This factory geometry and suspension set up is never perfect for every rider, but the perfect set-up is dependent on the riders weight (mass) the roads/track used, and the riders riding style. Changing the ride height of your motorcycle changes your motorcycles steering geometry and how it handles. Rising the rear end gives a quicker steering response and the bike becomes easier to turn in or "flick" in to bends. A benefit of jack up kits is that a risen motorcycle allows bigger lean angles in bends without the Foot pegs touching the ground. The high speed stability is slightly reduced by fitting a rising or jack up kit on most bikes this is marginal as the rake and trail is so generous as standard from the factory, that you might not even feel this reduction. If you like, you may set your steering damper to a more firm setting if your bike is fitted with one. There are aftermarket steering dampers available for most motorcycles on the market, fitting a steering damper is optional and not as such required, again it is dependent on your own preferences.
Fitting a lowering kit will increase high speed stability, while turn in will be slower. Short riders often value the lowered ride height to avoid "tip-toeing" during stand stills. Shorter riders might therefore like to lower also the front end in a similar amount to the rear end to keep the steering characteristics and the geometry unchanged. This is easily done on most bikes sliding the front fork legs upwards in the yokes. For radical lowering you might need to shorten the side stand of your bike. Our message to you is, change the ride height to suit your needs, and take necessary time to adapt to the new steering characteristics of your motorcycle after lowering or rising the ride height. Lowering and Jack up kits commonly "ride height adjusters" allows the motorcyclist to adjust the handling to suit his/her riding style, and track /road conditions.
In general regarding safety a certain amount of trail is needed for a bike to be safe at higher speeds. Rising the rear end can reduce top/high speed stability. On many bike models you might not even notice this reduction because the trail is so large at standard that a slight shortening of it will have virtually almost no impact at all. The suspension geometry and the important trail will however not become negative or zero by fitting one of our kits to an otherwise standard/unmodified motorcycle. The ride height adjusters changes the steering geometry by either lifting or lowering the rear suspension this changes in turn the rake and the trail. Your rear suspension and swing arm will move along the same path as before lowering or rising your bike, it is only in the lowest and highest end were you might move
Any motorcycle standard or modified can be dangerous in the event of an accident be it on a race/track-day or in road/traffic use. Accidents can lead to permanent injuries and even casualties. We are not responsible for your riding or other race/track-day/road users driving errors, misjudgement's etc. Lust Racing ride height adjusters are sold for "racing use only" due to different vehicle legislations in various countries world-wide. For traffic/road use - ensure that it is legal to fit ride height adjusters in your country. In some countries you may need a vehicle inspection and approval for changing the ride height. You fit your bike with ride height adjusters on your own will of doing so, and at your own risk.
Finally, did you know that in some countries bike-insurance companies may even lower your annual bike insurance premium with ride height adjusters fitted? - In other words: You may even earn back the price of the ride height adjusters in terms of a lowered insurance premium! - Check with your insurance company!

Are other changes required? If you lower or rise only the rear end, you will most likely need to readjust the headlight, easily done just by turning a two screws. A lowered bike may stand up more upright after lowering it - you may like to shorten the side stand if you lower your bike radically.
